¶ Licence and insurance
- Pilots with a Norwegian address must hold a Norwegian licence, regardless of nationality.
- According to the NLF guidance linked by the club, foreign visitors may fly in Norway as guest pilots for up to six months (up to twelve months for exchange students) if they belong to a foreign hang-, para- or speedgliding organization and hold a valid licence.
- Follow Norwegian laws and fly within the privileges of your national licence. Carry your licence and proof of third-party liability insurance and show them on request.
- Norway recognizes the IPPI system. Confirm current requirements with the NLF before travelling.
- Contact the club if you want your foreign qualifications assessed for a Norwegian certificate. You must provide documentation of your competence level.
- Read the flying-sites overview, local safety rules and emergency procedures.
- Check current weather, wind measurements, airspace, NOTAMs and local restrictions. Conditions can change quickly.
- Get a local briefing or site check-out when required. Ask a local pilot or instructor if you are unsure about a launch, landing or airspace.
- Carry proof of your licence and third-party insurance. Use radio and live tracking where recommended for the flight.
