¶ Club equipment and shared gear
Voss HPK has shared equipment for courses, events, tandem flying and member use.
- Clubhouse at Bømoen (Flyplassvegen 135): Club wings, training harnesses, reserve parachutes, helmets, radios and course materials are stored here. Ask the club manager or operations contact for the current door code. Return equipment dry, clean and to its usual place.
- Club trailer at Prestegardslandet (Lake Vangsvatnet): Operational gear, including tandem equipment, emergency supplies, first-aid kits and payment terminals. The trailer is used during courses and events such as Ekstremsportveko.
- Rescue boat on Lake Vangsvatnet: Orange motorboat for assistance after a water landing. It is unlocked for emergencies. Start in neutral and attach the kill-switch lanyard.
¶ Borrowing and use
- Who may borrow: Students on approved club courses and members with a valid NLF licence, with approval from the sporting director, training officer or club manager.
- Pre-flight inspection: The pilot borrowing equipment is responsible for checking it carefully. Look for holes or wear in the canopy and seams; damage to lines, risers and maillons; and the condition of carabiners, buckles and reserve pins.
- Report problems: Promptly tell the equipment manager or safety committee about hard landings, bush landings, moisture or damage. Clearly mark damaged equipment and remove it from use.
¶ Reserve parachutes and repacking
Inspect and repack reserve parachutes at the intervals required by the manufacturer and current NLF rules.
- Follow current NLF deadlines and the manufacturer’s manual; the club guide notes that this is usually at least annually.
- Voss HPK arranges group repacking days, usually at Bømoen or in a sports hall before the spring and winter seasons. Approved packers and instructors can provide guidance.
- Record inspection and repacking dates in the logbook and equipment register.
