Voss Hang- og Paragliderklubb (Voss HPK) was founded in 1976 and is one of Norway’s largest air sports clubs for hang gliding and paragliding. The high mountains of western Norway, flying conditions and a long-standing air-sports community make Voss a popular national and international free-flight destination throughout the year.
Voss Gondola and the launch sites on Hangurstoppen are central to flying activity. Main landing areas are Prestegardslandet and Minigolfen by Lake Vangsvatnet. The club also maintains launch sites for different wind directions and facilities at Bømoen.
- Paragliding and hang gliding: Thermic, ridge and cross-country flying, as well as acro over Lake Vangsvatnet.
- Speed riding and speed flying: Mainly winter and spring flying on skis in Myrkdalen and Voss Resort.
- Courses and training: Beginner and progression courses, tandem check-outs and instructor training in cooperation with the Norwegian Air Sports Federation (NLF/HPAC).
